What: Central Oregon Energy and Resilience Tour

When: May 16-17, 2019

Where: Central Oregon, basing operations out of Bend, OR


Sustainable Northwest, in partnership with Wy'East RC&D, Energy Trust of Oregon, and Oregon Department of Energy, is pleased to announce the 2019 Central Oregon Spring Energy Tour. This 2-day event will bring together local and regional experts in clean energy, sustainable farming, and local resiliency.

Highlights include:

  • An interactive tour at Three Sisters Irrigation District - a model for carbon-neutral farming, irrigation modernization, and river restoration;
  • Panel discussions on "Solar, Storage, and Resilience," and "Financing Your Energy Projects;"
  • A discussion with the City of Prineville and Wisewood Energy about a community-initiated biomass project and managing a growing population;
  • Tour of an affordable housing retirement community on the path to "net zero;"
  • Site visit of a large solar array with Cypress Creek Renewables, with discussions on solar siting, grid modernization, and shared solar opportunities; and
  • Evening networking reception at Worthy Brewing, with Farmers Conservation Alliance and Deschutes River Conservancy
