"We've been hiding in our cave making wood doors for 13 years now, and joining the HFHC Partnership has helped get us into the flow of small wood producers here in Oregon. The marketing connections via HFHC have been invaluable for my business."

About Us

Formed in the summer of 2006, the Blue Mountains Forest Partners (BMFP) is a partnership of diverse interests who have come together to advance a collective mission to enhance forest ecosystem health, economic opportunities and public safety in Grant County, Oregon. The BMFP was convened by Grant County residents and Sustainable Northwest was asked to facilitate and coordinate the group.

We are an open and inclusive group, and those interested in working with us to advance our mission are invited to participate. Currently participants include Grant County elected officials, representatives from the local forest products sector and local and regional conservation organizations, forest contractors, community residents and landowners, and tribal and federal land management agency representatives.

Many of our participants have signed a Declaration of Commitment that outlines our general goals and guiding principles and describes the details of what is expected of participants.

We have also developed an Operations Manual that describes the structure of the group and how we work together and make decisions.
