2009 RVCC Policy Platform: FAQs

RVCC Transition Memo - This memo was drafted by several members of the Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition (RVCC) and submitted to the appropriate people on President elect-Obama's transition team. The memo supports integrated solutions to rural economic, environmental and social issues.  The memo was created and based on existing RVCC issue papers and materials and emerging issues and frameworks.

At the Annual Policy Meeting we will develop a platform describing our policy priorities for 2009. This transition memo offers a framework to shape our platform at the Annual Policy Meeting, but certainly doesn't constrain it. The 2009 Platform will provide a strong foundation for our collective work in the coming years under this new administration and with each other.

Overheard...

“As an HFHC partner we have experienced opportunities to interact with other small businesses in related fields to exchange ideas. HFHC has been beneficial in helping develop marketing strategies and has co-sponsored display booths at home shows we couldn't otherwise afford. They have had a positive influence on our business and community and their efforts are greatly appreciated.”
