RVCC Western Week in Washington

Each year representatives from the Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition travel to Washington DC to meet with policymakers and elected officials.

April 14-18, 2008

RVCC WWIW DomeThe Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition (RVCC) was just in Washington D.C. sharing our collaborative perspectives and informing our Nation's leaders about the ecological and economic challenges facing communities in the West.

This year the RVCC was represented by 14 organizations from six western states and the District of Columbia. Learn more.

Throughout the week participants attended approximately 50 meetings.
The RVCC met with the Undersecretary of Natural Resources Mark Rey, and representatives Mike Crapo, Peter Defazio, Bill Sali and Greg Walden.

The groups' expertise was called on to give specific recommendations on various legislative proposals and ideas.  Our hard work is paying off - the RVCC is recognized as a credible and informed source of expertise and innovation.
