Celebrating 31 years of Sustainable Northwest at Live Edge 2025

We took Sustainable Northwest’s signature event of the year, Live Edge, back to our wood warehouse in SE Portland for 2025. Featuring our regenerative ranching program, of course meant serving beef brisket donated by Country Natural Beef, our largest partner in the ranching program. The brisket was prepared by Botto’s BBQ in Portland, and it was delicious. Turns out Live Edge is the only place you can get this particular brisket, because Botto’s doesn’t serve Country Natural Beef (but we’re working on it!).

Our splurge was renting a mechanical bull, which was a huge hit, especially at the end of the night. Dylan Kruse, SNW’s president, and Dallas Hall Defrees, our regenerative ranching program director, went horn to horn on the bull. Dallas had an advantage, having grown up on her parents’ ranch where she still lives and works. She won by a landslide.

It was incredibly fun to get together with our supporters, donors, and partners to celebrate our work, raise funds, and enjoy time together. Thanks to all who attended and hope to see you in 2026! If you would still like to donate, click here.
